At BBS, we understand that academic success is closely linked to wellbeing. That’s why we are committed to ensuring that appropriate advice and support services are provided to assist students in completing their studies and attaining their academic goals.
Our policies and procedures are designed to provide a holistic support system for all our students, including a special focus on international students and First Nations students.
OUR COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT SERVICES
Arrival Support for International Students: We understand the challenges of adapting to a new country. Our arrival support includes transportation advice, accommodation assistance, and a comprehensive guide to life in Australia.
Orientation Programme: Mandatory for all new students, our orientation programme provides essential information about study and life in Australia. It includes detailed sessions on available wellbeing and support services.
Academic Support: We offer extensive academic support, including language and learning assistance. Our lecturers and course coordinators provide individual assistance to ensure academic success, with special attention to students at risk.
Student Services Support: Our services encompass a wide range of needs:
- Accommodation: Assistance in finding suitable living arrangements.
- Counselling: Support for academic and personal challenges, with referrals to external counselling services as needed.
- Health and Legal Services: Guidance on health services and legal advice, ensuring students know where and how to seek help.
- Visa Conditions and Work Support: Information sessions on visa conditions and assistance with job search and resume writing.
- IT Support: A dedicated IT helpdesk to assist with any technical issues you may encounter, from Wi-Fi connectivity to accessing online learning platforms.
Special Needs Support: We provide tailored support for students with special needs, including but not limited to adaptive materials, specialised seating arrangements, and extended time for assessments.
First Nations Student Support: Recognising the unique challenges faced by First Nations students, we offer specialised support such as academic workshops, additional tutoring, and culturally sensitive adjustments to assessment requirements.
