BBS recognises that students may already have relevant knowledge, skills, and academic experience gained through previous study, professional work experience, training, or other formal and informal learning opportunities.
Through Credit and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), eligible students may receive credit towards a BBS course where prior learning is assessed as comparable to the learning outcomes and academic standards required by the Institute.
Depending on the outcome of the assessment, Credit or RPL may reduce the number of units a student is required to complete as part of their course.
Credit may be considered for students who have successfully completed prior formal study at a recognised higher education institution or registered training organisation.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may also be considered where students can demonstrate relevant professional experience, workplace learning, industry training, or other forms of prior learning that align with the learning outcomes of a BBS unit or course.
All applications are assessed individually and students may be required to provide supporting documentation and evidence as part of the assessment process
Students seeking Credit or RPL should complete the relevant application form and provide all supporting documentation required by BBS.
Supporting documentation may include:
Students are encouraged to apply for Credit or RPL as early as possible before commencing their course.
Students who are unsure whether their previous study or professional experience may be eligible for Credit or RPL are encouraged to contact BBS for guidance before submitting an application.
